On Global Zero Waste Day, Huayou Cobalt opened its Quzhou Industrial Park to 50 fifth-grade students and teachers from Lingxi Campus, offering a firsthand look at its green manufacturing revolution.

At the exhibition hall, students marveled at Huayou’s evolution from a cobalt pioneer to a new energy titan. "Our success lies in marrying environmental stewardship with industrial efficiency," explained the guide, showcasing the full supply chain – from Congolese mines to Quzhou’s zero-waste refineries.

In the production process display area, the entire production flow - from mine exploitation in the Democratic Republic of Congo to refining in modern chemical plants in Quzhou - was clearly presented, showcasing Huayou’s global industrial chain layout. “Through hydrometallurgy technology, we can efficiently extract high-purity cobalt, nickel, and other metals crucial for power batteries. Additionally, retired batteries are dismantled, purified, and reused, achieving resource recycling,” the guide elaborated, conveying the power of environmental protection to everyone present.

When asked by a curious student whether this process produces significant pollution, the guide responded with a smile, "This is precisely where Huayou’s 'green code' lies. We have implemented stringent environmental protection measures at every stage of the process, acting like layers of filters to ensure pollutants are completely contained."

As the tour progressed, the visitors witnessed how Huayou achieves synergistic optimization between production and environmental protection through real-time monitoring. At the environmental data display board, the guide explained, "These fluctuating data points monitor our environmental indicators during the production process, ensuring we always follow the path of green development." Huayou adopts transparent management methods, driven by data, to ensure that every step meets environmental standards, demonstrating its firm commitment to green development.

This visit not only allowed the teachers and students to closely experience Huayou's practical achievements in green manufacturing but also sparked their thoughts on low-carbon living. Through open exchanges between schools and enterprises, Huayou extended environmental protection concepts from the corporate level to society, contributing positively to the construction of a "zero waste city" and promoting public green actions.
